New baby present

Hi, hope this is the right place to ask.

I manage a small team and one of my lovely ladies has just had a baby girl. We had a collection and have about £50, but I have zero idea what to buy! I don’t have children so I really don’t know what mum would realistically like - and do I get a present for baby, or mum, or both?

Would you mind letting me know what you may have got when you had a baby, or perhaps sharing some suggestions?

Many thanks 😊

Some little snacks for mum and dad is always nice.
And for baby you could get a couple of books, a Lamaze toy (the dragon fly is really good for its wing colours), if you're going to get some clothes then make sure they're for the season. I had a baby in may and got lots of summer stuff in bigger sizes but it's too cold for them now.

I'd avoid blankets and bits, lots of people give them but some people don't use them. Same goes for teddies

Or they'll probably get lots of baby presents so you could get them a subscription to gusto or some of these meal deliver services?

I loved receiving gift vouchers so I could buy specific things we needed, or just really wanted that weren’t given to us.

Gift vouchers we received which were really useful were for Amazon, NEXT and Argos. £50 is a good amount. You could also get a small personalised thing from Etsy or NOTHS to make it a bit more thoughtful. A Christmas tree bauble with baby’s name on n for example.

Thank you, I appreciate the ideas! I think a lamaze toy for baby and a voucher for mum sounds perfect, thank you again.
