Our lovely baby daughter was born 00:40 21st May weighing 8lbs 8ozs.
No homebirth Sad
My waters broke on Wednesday and trickled for the next 72 hours with few sparse contractions. We went to hospital at the alloted time (72 hours max due to infection risk). Synto drip started at 2pm. Regular strong contractions by 4pm. Never known pain like it, I had my trusty TENS but it wasn't enough. Birth plan out of the window as Pethedine, followed by gas and air and lots of puking followed. At the next internal I had gone from 3cm at admission to 5cm!
They were really suprised at the lack of progress, I was getting past teh point of caring as the pethedine was wearing off. We decided on an epidural as it was clear it was going to be a long job.
Baby started to show signs of flattening out. We had a FAB Dr who went over all our options and to cut the rest of the story down a bit ended up with a section. Just like someone washing up in your tummy!

I have a beautiful baby daughter and had the most excellent care throughout the time in hospital so I feel lucky and tired!
