My Auntie died at 9.30am.

She was one of the most thoughtful and selfless people I've had the pleasure of knowing. The world will never be the same.

Not expecting any responses, just wanted to pay a public tribute.

R.I.P. Doreen - you will be sadly missed x x

Thank you so much. Am totally gutted.

She was 75 im body but 25 in spirit!! I just feel so sad that I'll never see her again - eat her pumpkin soup, see that smile, hear that laugh and listen to her stories.

That is very sad.

My dad died 20+ years ago and I miss him now more than ever.

I hope you have lots of wonderful memories and keepsakes to remember your aunt.

Thanks Numberlock I do. I've just put on her fave CD and the floodgates have opened.

So sorry to hear about your Dad. I am very lucky that both my parents are still here, I can't even imagine the grief of losing them.

I don't want to make this about me but my mum has dementia now and I have just put her house up for sale.

When I was clearing it out I brought lots of everyday items to my home so now we eat from items of crockery, have flowers in vases, even tea towels etc etc from the family home that remind us all of happy times.

Could you perhaps do the same?

Ps. What was her favourite CD?

I am so sorry for your loss.

It is so difficult to think that you will never see them again. You do have your memories though, and whilst they feel like they are causing you pain at the moment they will, over time, become joyful reasons to recall the person. You will always miss her - she sounds amazing - I love "young-at-heart" people. Embrace the memories and hold them close in your heart.

Thank you so much for your kind words.

My Uncle, cousin and her children will be staying in the house although I'm sure they would want me to have something of my Aunts.

Her favourite CD is Impressions by Andre Gagnon, a pianist. I stayed with her for a month 20 years ago and she played it constantly. I tracked it down last year on eBay, so thrilled that I did. It means so much to me, in fact I started piano lessons because of it.

I think it would be wonderful if you could have some of her personal items and how about a framed copy of the album cover?

Oh and I first saw Les Mis with her and my cousin in Adelaide - wonderful memories....

Perhaps you could also request some of the music to be played at the funeral?

Thank you Nothing she really was amazing. We laughed until tears rolled down our cheeks - she was also very wise and very honest. We all have a faults and flaws but I honestly couldn't see a single one in her.
