The card is for my neighbours who sadly lost their newborn baby at a day old.

I ddn't get a sympathy card, because they all just didn't seem right, so I got a Thinking Of You card instead, but it is blank inside and I can't think what to write.

Everything I come up with just seems wrong.

How sad,poor neighbours.
Maybe just something very simple like "Just wanted you to know we are thinking about you during this incredibly sad time, lots of love"

Your poor neighbours Sad

In all likelihood they will be so appreciative of the fact that you have written anything that your words will be second to the effort you have made.

Something along the lines of "we were so dreadfully sadened by the loss of [insert name], please let us know if there is anything at all we can do for you. we are thinking of you. Love theoriginal"

I think it is kind to acknowledge what has happened - this happened to very good friends of mine and they said that so many people just didn't mention it at all - they decided to 'cull' their friendship list because of it ..........they knew who their 'real' friends were.

That is sad Ragwort.

We are neighbours, and not close close, you know. We chat on the doorstep sometimes and our kids play together, but there was no way I could not acknowledge what had happened.

As it is, they have asked me to help compose some letters for them as part of the investigation into what happened. I am just so glad I can be of some help to them.
