5 year old wetting himself when laughing... ?

DS1, who is 5.5, came home from school in the 'spare school shorts and pants' yesterday. It's not the first time - has happened at least once every couple of months.

He says thats sometimes when people make him laugh too much, he can't help it, but he wets himself. I've also seen it happen at home a few times too.

I know it's not exactly a HUGE problem, but I do worry that the other kids will tease him if it continues, Also don't know if it could be anything more serious underlying it?

The only thing I can think is that he tends to wait until the last possible moment before rushing to the loo, so probably he has a very full bladder.

Any thoughts/ experience?

I have experience of my two oldest boys occasionally wetting themselves because they leave it too late to go to the loo. I think that is common in boys of about this age. Your ds is probably doing the same only it is coming out when he laughs. Frankly, I think it is lovely that your ds has such a good relationship with his classmates that he is laughing that much. I wish I did!

Seriously though, all you can do is encourage him to use the toilet more often (tell him to go every playtime but I bet he won't!) He will grow out of it I should think.

funny really - "PMSL" in every sense of the word...

BTW - you're not REALLY lonely are you - feel like I see you on here all the time

That's why! (though I am trying to be here less so I can at least do some things in my lonely world!)
