my ds was really bad for doing this, and now he is 3 has only just stopped, we still get the occasional smear but nothing of what it was. just bought him a duvet cover of toy story so he loves it, and wants to keep it clean. think this is helping but at 2 your ds is probably too little to do this. unfortunately no matter what we tried, waiting for him to poo before his nap didnt help, he'd always manage to make more to smear. telling him off didnt work as he seemed to like doing it. hopefully your ds will only do it for a short phase, sorry i couldnt be of more help.

Can you put him in a babygro, and put it on back to front? He wont be able to undo it. If you sew socks onto the cuffs, that will make it even more tamperproof.

ignoring never worked either, cos then he thought we were giving him free reign to do it.

oh god can't do this for another year. he sleeps in a baby grow at night. have thought about getting some of those vests with poppers on. do they make those for 2 yo? or a straight jacket?

it's nice to know he's not the only one in the bobby sands fan club. perhpas it's a political staement?

Dungarees might help for during the day if you don't want to have to change him into a babygro?

Don't have experience of this, but toddlers don't have hugely long memories so I reckon if you can stop him doing it for a while (maybe 2-3 weeks or so??) that might well be enough to break the habit and make him forget about it. Fingers crossed..

even putting him in gros and dungerees didnt help for mine, he could always find some way in, little monkey!

well so far so good,

combination of vests with poppers and dungarees in the day, babygros at night along with watching like a hawk

seems to be working.

mind you he's only pooed once since weds.
will let you know how we get on.

they don't appear to do toddler straight jackets - not even ebay and i thought the sold everything on there.
