Toilet training - should we go back to pull-ups?

Hi,

My daughter (2 years, 9 months) has been toilet training for 3 months and everything was going great until 2 weeks ago when she started doing poos in her pants. She is still going for wees in the toilet but no matter what we try and do she won't go to the toilet for a poo.

I've tried saying that we'll have to put her back in nappies to encourage her to use the toilet again but she doesn't seem to be bothered one way or another. I'm at a loss as to what to do. Should I put her back in pull-ups even though she's using the toilet correctly for wees or should I just put up with cleaning the dirty pants and hope that she reverts back to using the toilet again? I've tried reward charts/treats/etc but nothing is working.

Many thanks, Sharon

Have had exactly the same problem with my dd.

She was fine for a while then suddenly pooing in her pants or on the floor.

She has now been ok again for about a week.

Two things I tried which I think worked:

  • took her to shops to choose a treat which she couldn't have until she did a poo on loo/potty. (peppa pig socks)

-told her all her knickers would be given away to another little girl if she kept on pooing all over the place.

Sounds harsh but I'd had enough of cleaning up poo!
