hi

i'm just wondering is it ok that my little girl is still only drinking 2-3oz every 3 hours? she is on formula and has been drinking this amount since she was 4 weeks old (when i stopped bf-ing). i thought it should increase?? she is on track for her growth chart thingy but i just hope it's enough for her? she seems content, i just think it's very little compared to her peers who drink 5/6 ounces...

If she is content and growing well then don't worry. Some babies just have smaller appetites, just like adults do.

You could try adding an extra ounce once she is often clearly finishing a full 3oz and sucking for more once the bottle empties. I'm sure she'll let you know when she wants more

Don't worry - as long as she is on track. My DD who has just turned 1 was quite a big baby at 9.9. I struggled BFing so went to the bottle at 4 weeks like you. She had about half the amount her peers were having and I always worried about it but I shouldn't as even now she hasn't got a massive appetite. Just think if you were still breastfeeding her you wouldn't have a clue how much she was taking and wouldn't be able to worry! Try not to compare. Hard but trust me - if she wants more I'm sure she'll let you know.
