Start with encouraging him to wear them for only a short time. You need to make allowances for the fact that he needs to adjust to wearing them. Even now when DD gets a new prescription it can take her a few days to adjust and she has been wearing specs since she was 2.5.)

When she had to start wearing glasses we used to put the TV on for 20 mins and let her watch only if she had her specs on. If she took them off then the TV went off too.

We also used to put them on her and distract her with engaging activities such as painting or messy activities or when she was eating her pudding.

Also used to bribe her with skips or chocolate buttons.

After a while she would forget she had them on then after a few weeks she realised she could see much better with them on and stopped taking them off altogether.

I feel your pain
We bought 'sports bands' from outdoor shops. The type boarders etc put on their sunnies. They are cool and might encourage him
