Hi there, Id love your opinions, stories etc.
Do dummys help children keep their day time naps for longer or does it just depend on the child?
My ds1 never had a dummy and stopped napping at 18 months but has always been very very active. Ds 2 who has a dummy for sleeps only is still napping now and will turn 3 next month, he is much calmer and quieter generally speaking than ds1.
Ive spoken to people who dc have dummys and dont have dummys and it seems that those with them have kept their naps for longer.
Im expecting dc3 in October and dont really want to introduce a dummy but love the idea of day time naps!!!!
Should add that ds1 didnt bf due to dialigned jaw at birth and ds2 bf like a dream which is why we tried the dummy as I wasnt confident eough to know if he was confort sucking at night or topping up etc.
Id love to know your thoughts also any tips on what to do with a baby that confort sucks??
Thanks

No its just the child.

Neither of mine had dummies - one stopped napping at under 2 the other was still sleeping for 3 hours in the daytime at 3
