14 month old..weeing on floor.. do you think he would go in a potty?

Ds is driving me mad, for the last couple of months after we take his nappy off at bathtime (and sometimes other changes too) he runs off and appears to deliberately be weeing on the floor.

I say deliberately because I would not have thought he could at this age, but he will squeeze even the tiniest drop out - although I wondered if it's more like a reflexive action than him being in control.

Now he even gets a cloth and "mops" it up because he has seen me do it so often!!!

He wouldn;t really be able to aim it but I thought if I held the potty underneath he might get the idea and it would save the carpet..?

How does this fit with potty training later?

hello vicdubya. i'm afraid I don't have any earth shattering advice on this, other than I saw this thread since I am hoping to start potty training dd soon. I am waiting until she shows some sign of realisation about the whole "weeing" process, which so far she doesn't! It sounds like your ds knows what he is doing, so putting a potty in the bathroom for him to get used to may be an idea.

My ds is 16 months and does exactly the same thing. As soon as you take his nappy of he rolls over shoots off so you can't reach him and strains to get his wee out. He laughs before it comes out so he knows what he's doing. then he goes and gets the baby wipes to wipe it up. He's got a potty that he plays with but he's not actually done anything in it yet.

Oh Dancer my ds is exactly the same! he laughs when he does it too!

Just tell me does yours also body surf on the loo seat and throw the contents of the bathroom into the running bath every night?

Must clean the bathroom carpet properly soon it's starting to whiff a bit..
