DD seems to have found her thumb but is struggling to get it into her mouth. She's 8 weeks old. Might just be a coincidence but we had one of the worst nights last night. Most of the time she goes down awake for her naps and her night time sleeps and has no probelms at all getting herself off to sleep and if she awakens halfway through her lunchtime nap for example, she gets herself back off no problem.
Last night she was unsettled from the word go and it seemed as if she was getting frustrated that she couldn't get her thumb into her mouth. She was well fed and winded. When she woke for her feed at 10.30 she was miserable from the word go when normally we get smiles etc at that time and she then was unsettled pretty much all night with me giving her little feeds to settle her at 2.30am and 5.30am whereas she's been going through without a whisper until nearer 6am.

Could it be the thumb do you think? She just seems so so very unhappy even now, doesn't want any food, doesn't seem to have any wind, doesn't know what she wants perhaps.
Any thoughts??

I am torn Orinoco as DS still sucks his fingers and he's nearly 4!!! But the thought of getting up in the night in months/years to come to put a dummy back in doesn't do much for me either!

She will take a dummy but only if I hold it in her mouth otherwise it just falls out.
