Hi, My DS was 2 years old at the beginning of the month and has never slept through the night. Times vary when he wakes(sometimes 1.30, sometimes 4am. Now he has also started to wake at 4am sometimes 5am wanting to get up and play. I dont mind getting up at 6am but I'd just like a good nights sleep. Any ideas anyone, PLEASE!!

I have 2 year old twins - they have generally been good sleepers from around 3 mths, but dt2 started waking 3-4 times per night around 3 months ago. Controlled crying was the only thing that worked - we tried sitting in with him/bringing him in our bed/stroking. Depends if you agree with it, and also if you have the patience and the heart to do it! I would suggest making a plan each night of what you are going to do, if you have a partner, one of you take say 10pm-2am the other 2am til 6.30. You may be able to find a book in the library, but there is plenty on the net about the controlled crying regime. I hope that is helpful? It is the hardest thing to do when you are not getting any sleep...but I found that it was worth it once we were all getting more sleep, everyone much happier!
