Weaning problems!!

Hi. I am starting to get quite stressed about weaning my 6 month old DD!! She started off really well at about 5 months, as supported by the HV and was taking baby rice and all sorts of purees and was up to three meals a day, along with her formula. But over the past few days she has started to refuse the spoon, closing her mouth, pushing my hand away and just won't eat. At first I thought it was a bought of teething, but that doesn't appear to be the case. I obviously don't want to force feed her and have tried everything I can possibly think of to encourage her, but just don't know what to do from now?

Any help and advice would be very much appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

my DD did this too, its like the novelty wore off! don't force her, my DD started to want finger food very early and she loved to try and feed herself, it was nerve wracking as i thought she would choke, but she was fine, try giving her a spoon too so she can be a bit in control and then you try and spoon it in as well. If not give it a break for a day or so and try again. it is frustrating, i know!

OOh, my dd did that too. She loves finger food now but isn't so keen on 'meals' at the moment.

i wouldn't worry. She'll still be getting nearly all her nutrition from milk, so just keep offering her food until she gets interested again!
