Has anyone experienced this and have a clue as to when it will stop?

Yes! I think most of them do it. My dd is 14 months and still does it but not as much.

Totally normal, its how they experience the world. DS1 grew out of it completely in his 2s I think but it transformed into chewing/biting things instead. He's 4 now and rarely does either.

DS2 is nearly 1 and in full swing, everything goes in his mouth but now we can say no to him and he is learning what can and cant go in there.

DS is 13 months and still does this. it's like his first test of anything is "Can I eat it?"

It's how they explore things apparently but it can be quite gross. Sand, mud and that sort of thing all get eaten even though each time I say no. I wonder why he don't figure out that actually sand tastes pretty horrid.

Yep, normal, as everyone says.
I have a 12 month oild and same goes.

Luckily we don't have our cat anymore, her older sisters were obsessed with eating hr food!

I'm forever digging out hairclips that she finds or her sisters drop in her path.
Last week i noticed something white on the roof of her mouth as she lay back in the bath and I pulle dout a huge dinosaur sticker which was flat against the roof of her mouth.

oh god yes
i dread to think how much soil dd consumed when she was this age (or perhaps a bit older)
went on for quite a while as I recall...

oh no it can go on well into 3 years? I can't bear the thought. When I tell her no she looks at me and smile but still puts it in her mouth. Its very frustrating.

Oh yes, goes on a long time. Your job to keep anything dangerous away. Telling her no is a probably a waste of time at this age.

This is why so many toys are marked 'contains small parts, not for children under 3'.

Don/t mean you shouldn't tell her no. Just that you have to be prepared to carry on doing it for a very long time (and keep removing things/her at the same time)
