DD keeps pulling out her hair !!!!!!!!

dd will be three in november she has always had little habits that i have managed to stop (sucking her finger until it turns purple) plus lots more at the moment its pulling out the front of her hair!!! she has two bold patchs looks awful, dd has really long thick hair (she will not let anyone cut it) any suggestions to help me stop her doing this oh this morning i picked out clumps of hair from her bed!!!! just dont know what else to try

What have you tried?

Sounds like a nervous thing. DS had lots aged 2 and 3, one was continually pulling up his trousers. We deliberately said nothing and it seems that he hasn't had one since he was 4. But they were never so distressing as making himself bald.

have been told that could be a comfort action (sounds strange it must hurt) ive put a thick headband on her today which has worked but i find myself always telling her off for pulling at her hair and its really getting me down dont want to keep nagging at my baby
