how can i stop dd scratching?

dd is 17 weeks old and keeps scratching her head so badly that it bleeds and scabs. I've filed her nails to almost nothing but she still manages it. She escapes out of scratch mitts and I've run out of ideas.

Any advice please

I used to use micropore to keep Tink's socks on as she was so tiny they'd fall off everytime she moved. I only taped them tight, not to her skin I should add!

Have you seen the baby grows that have mits built in? The cuff folds over the hand. I had some and didn't even realise what they were till she was wearing them like that in hospital.

Only two suggestions I have, I'm afraid.

Mothercare baby grows have the scratch mitts attached IIRC. She wont be able to pull them off as they are part of the gro like Tinkerbell said and you just unfold them and tuck them over, should do the job

why is she scratching her head? Is it itchy and needs some moisturising cream?

I'd look at the cause first....

Just scratching when she is going off to sleep? My DS used to do that when he was tired so I used to swaddle him until he was in a deeper sleep then unravel him. Did the trick until he was out of his scratchy phase.

Put tight socks over your dd's hands, like the long ones from Baby Gap. I find scratch mitts to be useless.
