My 3 year old daughter has 5 sore looking spots on her face. I don't know whats caused them or how to get rid of them. They don't seem to bother her but just don't look very nice. She dosn't have any on her body. Does any one know what they might be?

How long have they been there?

They are red and inflamed with tiny yellow spots in the middle. She has had them for 3 days now

I'm thinking chicken pox but would expect her to have them elsewhere by now.

Yes I thought that at first.

are the tiny yellow spots indented or like a proper spot (you know the adult spot you squeeze)

I've known a child have chicken pox with only one spot

Twiglet- That looks exactly like her spots. I think I might take her to the docs just to be on the safe side.

The chicken pox spot that is.
I didn't know you could have chicken pox with only one spot.

yup .. but sometimes with very very mild attacks you don't get immunity (although sometimes you do too)

My daughter had impetigo a few weeks ago and the spots looked very similar to chickenpox but were limited to face (this is usual) they burst very quickly and get a honey coloured crust to them (yum)whereas chickenpox take longer to scab over. Impetigo is very contagious and my daughter found it very sore - contagious until all spots crusted over and needed course of antibiotics. Not sure if this helps.
