Hello everyone, I'm new here. I know everyone has a lot going on already with the Corona virus but I just wanted to ask for some advice. My son is 18 months old. Looking back I was depressed since he was born. Everything in the last year was a fog to me. I just got on with his basis needs. He gets lots of hugs and kisses of course but I feel like I've held him back by not engaging with him as much as I should have. He started crawling at 10 months, and walking at 15 months. He has 6 words he says constantly and says something new every few days but doesn't say it again.

He has no interest in building blocks or putting shapes in the correct places. He copies me when he wants to but doesn't follow simple direction. I'd just like to know if I have reason to be worried or is this normal. I can't help but feel I haven't been as attentive to him as I should have been and I am the cause of this. Obviously with the current situation I wouldn't feel comfortable in bringing him for a checkup but I was wondering does anyone have any tips and ideas on how to help him learn more. I am a first time mum and finding it so difficult
Sorry for the long post
Thank you for reading

Sounds normal to me and we have an 18 month GD. She does have a good vocabulary but has no interest in blocks or putting the shapes into the correct shape. She is not too interested in letting you read her a story either although she opens books She likes to play with her dolls and in the In the night garden figures.
