Night time settling

Hi guys

Posted a couple of days ago about breast feeding and got some good advice and baby now latching well.

Next problem!

My baby will not sleep without me on a night time and I one can get him in his Moses basket to sleep. He sleeps fine in it at day time and doesn't need me then but come the night he has to be lying on me or he just howls for hours.

Haven't slept in my own bed since he was born and haven't slept at night at all. Have managed an hour or so first thing if mum/partner can take him once I've fed him. Running out of steam and really need some sleep!

Anyone else had this and has any advice?

Just wondering if there is a reason you can't sleep when he's in bed with you CFlips? Is it anxiety? Are you following the sage bed sharing guidelines?

If you do want him in your basket there are a few things that you can try.

Tank him up in the day, offer a feed every 2 hours.

Use a T-shirt DH has worn as the sheet on his mattress. One of yours won't work as it will smell of your milk.

Warm the mattress before you put him in, a warm hot water bottle should help.

Use white noise, you can get apps for your phone.

Put him down when he is zonked, give him a really big feed, maybe try breast compressions, then wait until he's in a deep sleep before trying to put him down.
