Educational psychologists are like unicorn dust. If the school have concerns about your son, tell the GP

I’d dig my heels in regarding the GP and don’t take no for an answer regarding underlying problems. At least if you don’t end up getting a diagnosis you know you are dealing with anxiety regarding school. My advice would be to go to the GP and ask for a referral to a paediatrician as his behaviour is effecting his education.

I have well an truly had enough of having the same battle with my 10 yr old. In May I moved him to another school due to bullying an some teachers werent all that nice to him either an the parent bein just as bad as there children.

When I explained my concerns to head teacher after goin to class teacher an gettin nowhere the head did not help either. My child was down he once walkin home alone as this was what he asked for. I could see school from where I lived he had only just step through the gate an had a stone chucked at his head. Well getting back in touch they told me they cant do anything as it happened out of school, but he was just outside the gate wearing uniform.

An not long after that I received a call again from the head an he starts the conversation how my son is not blameless. Some kids have been messing around the toilets an his arm has been trapped in the door - how can he have blame?

I know my child is far from an angel but how wen he gets home the top of his arm is all brused.

Enough was enough, after all the stuff I'd done, all the bullying an the gettin nowhere, I moved him. He wanted this too.

He moved, first week brilliant telling me about his day, comin home from school with certificates, all thing he never did at previous school. Then he starts refusing to go. I had the head teachers come collect him, but he refused to go with them once an then they no longer were aloud to collect him.

School welfare told them that I phone daily, only to be told something i already know. I need to get him in or will be fined.

I've tried an tried for years to have him assessing for adhd at both schools an gp, but I'm passed from one another. I've even done parenting course. I'm banging my head against a brick wall all the time with it. I no my sons anxious about school but he dont talk, if u try he will get angry.

What can I do? Is anyone else goin through this?
