Referral for speech therapy/anxiety

We recently received a letter saying a referral for speech therapy had been made through the preschool my daughter goes to - I was aware of this. She's not being assessed for speech therapy as there's no problem with that. The referral is to do with her anxiety that holds her back with lack of confidence, she's a quiet natured child with children and adults in general and takes a while for her to feel relaxed.

Has anyone else had their child assessed but with regards to anxiety?

Where I live, SaLT wouldn't take a referral for a child for anxiety, if there was no issue with their language.
What has the Pre-school SENCo said to you ?

The referral letter came in the post beginning of this week and the preschool are asking them to come to the preschool as they can watch and then give their opinions and I'd be present to.

She's three and a half. Xx

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply there wasn't a referral Smile, what I was thinking is that they must have other concerns as well.

Yes there are concerns for her anxiety mainly, we have agreed to a child psychologist to attend her preschool for their opinion too (takes 2/3 mths for this to happen though) as we need to get to the bottom of things so she can get the best support before going to school in Sept. xx
