DS hates morning walk - help!

DS is 14 weeks old, every morning for the last couple of months we've been going out fairly early (while it's still cool) to walk the dog. Dog requires 45min walking a day.

He loved it, he'd normally fall asleep and if he grizzeld, I'd pop his dummy in and he was happy.

The last week has been a nightmare!! As soon as I start walking with him in the lay down cot bit of the travel system he just cries and I have to pick him up and he stops. he just wants to be held/cuddled.

I tried swapping to the car seat attachment and same issue.

It's too hot for me and it's too sunny for him to be in a sling, even having a hat on him dosnt shade him completely.

It's so out of the blue because he loved being pushed along and now all of a sudden, hates it!

Any advice or suggestions on how I can get DS to enjoy/tolerate the walk would be much appreciated. Or anyone had something similar?

Is he swaddled in the pram? That might help create the cuddly feeling. Does he need slightly propping up if it's reflux type issues?

What kind of sling do you have? My youngest was born in August and he had colic. He loved being in a stretchy sling even though it was hot at the time.

Thanks raining I'll try swaddling,he is swaddled at night so it might help!

No refulx or colic or anything. It is a streatchy sling (Streaches both ways), he won't get to hot - but I will! Since giving birth, i've had the serious sweats and get so hot I break out in a rash! It's so uncomfortable so would like to exhaust all other options because the sling. Also worried about the sun on his little bald head/legs in a sling.

It sounds like he would prefer to be slightly raised in the pram, does it have the option to move the cot bit upwards? Or point the cot bit in the opposite direction, so he has something different to look at? Possibly wind could be causing him discomfort; have you tried gripe water before his bottles?

Thanks for your reply! Unfortunately it doesn't, but I will try the gripe water before the bottle I give him before his walk.

Neither of mine tolerated the lay flat pram much past 3 months unless they were asleep. They were both far too alert and nosey. I moved both into the pushchair seat at that point. I had an Uppababy Vista and you can get an insert for the seat which flattens it out a bit. I know it's not recommended/ideal, but sometimes you have to get from A to B without screaming.

What have you tried so far sir? Is it still too hot for the sling? If there’s a sling library or a sling Consultant near to you, they might be able to give you some information.
