Feeling out of depth with my 10 month old

Hi there.

Could you please tell me how much sleep your 10 month olds are having in the day time. Only my ds sleeps from 9.30-11.30 am and then from 1ish-3.30pm. Trouble is at the moment he is sleeping very badly at night. he is waking around 12ish for a bottle and then is up every hour or so and then awake from 5am. I have another ds who is nearly 3 and its disturbing him as they share a room. We are going to to move the baby into the spare room but he ends up in there half way through the night anyway.

He never normally has a bottle at night and goes to bed at 7pm. Any advice as Im feeling very run down and a bit sad.

Thank you.

Hi

My ds is almost 10 mths, he has naps the same time as your ds.

I give him a bottle at 7pm and he goes in his cot, i then dream feed him at 11pm and he sleeps through till 8.30am.

His routine was badly affected lately though as he cut one of his top teeth, could it be teething what is disturbing him?

hth

my ds is 10 months and has similar naps to yurs, he wakes once or twice in th night but manages to go back to sleep till 7-8am. somwtimes when he wakes for his 5am feed he wants to stay up and play but i just leave him in cot and he cries for about 10 minutes and goes back to sleep.

They are quite long naps at 10 months - a total of 4.5 hours. My children were having more like 3 hours split over 2 naps (2 hours and 1 hour) and going to bed at 7.30, but still waking up quite early.

hi pp, no advice i'm afraid, just wanted to offer some sympathy
my dd is only 9 months, but sleeping similarly to yours. she has only just started having longer naps, approximately same length and times as your lo's, but they vary day to day she had previously only been napping for 30 mins at a time
her nights are shockers and am still bfing her once maybe twice+ through the night.
if you get the time, feel free to join us on the 'sleep is for the weak' thread where you can get oodles of support and sympathy some of us have actually graduated , so there may be some helpful ideas too!! hth

Thank you.
He has just got over a nasty virus, so its not illness thats doing it. Im going to move him into his own room and start all over again.
I think we might have got into some bad ahbbits such as moving him when he first wakes so he doesnt disturb ds1.
He also seems to prefer the double bed I(to himself)!!
Im waking him from his daytime naps most of the time so he is obviously tired from not sleeping at night??
You wouldnt think I have a nearly 3 year old, he was an incredibly good sleeper, (although I try not to compare)!

My 10 month old DD has two naps a day, they vary anything from 20 mins to 1.5 hours, so not usually more than 3 hours total.

She's sleeping quite well at the moment > goes to bed at about 8pm, has an 11pm dream feed, then through to around 7am. She eats quite late too, dinner between 7-7.30pm.

She sleeps much better in her own room, we moved her at 6-7 months and there was quite a dramatic improvement (I blame DP's snoring )

Could well be something like teething I would have thought, hope it all gets much better soon
