Toilet training

Sorry to bore you all, but I'm at a loose end with this just now. 2.5 year old is half toilet trained, asks to go to toilet for pee pees etc. However will NOT ask for a poo! Does it in his pants them comes and tells us. We know when he needs one and sit him
On the toilet however he won't do it and just does it in his pants the minute our back is turned. We've tried treats, reasoning with him, and are now at our wits end and puttin him on
The naughty step when he does it. Any other ideas? He is not interested in potty at all and never has been. He starts nursery in August and we go on holiday in July so would really
Like it sorted ASAP. Thank you for reading.

Putting on the naughty step is probably the worst thing you can do. He will be worried about asking you to help him poop and he probably thinks if he just poops his pants he can hide it. Can you go back a few steps and try bare bum and if he does do an accident, ask him to sit on the toilet to do any more and quietly tidy him up. If he has any successes with poop give him loads of praise, and continue to give him lots of praise for wees.

Also do you have a potty he can use instead of toilet as it's not a very good position for them to poop in unless you have an incredibly high step for him to rest his feet on as his knees should be higher than his bum.

Yeah we've had a potty from the start, he's not interested in it at all. Has always went straight to toilet. Yeah bare bum is a good idea actually Smile
