Best times of having a son

Ok, so my DS is almost 3 weeks old.
I'm madly in love with him, this morning during a nappy change the remainder of his belly button fell off!
Expecting to be jubilant that it's gone I was shocked to feel quite sad because he is growing up already!

With this being my first child I'm unsure of the mini milestones ahead and can't wait to experience them!

What are your favourite parts/memorable moments of having a son?

I'm looking forward to

  • first smile
  • climbing onto my knee for a cuddle
  • bedtime stories

How muddy they get and how funny they are. Small boys are like puppies - exercise, food and hugs and they're happy. I have two boys, 5 and 7. Still loads of cuddles. Altnough they are obsessed with their willies and every other word is poo....

I'm always very relieved I have blond, short-haired boys when the nit warning comes home from school!

3 boys here. The house is always noisy and full of rough and tumble and plenty of cheekiness and laughter. Also boys absolutely love their Mums I'm always inundated with lots of cuddles and kisses. The earliest milestone I loved the most was heading their 1st belly laugh it really is the best sound.
Enjoy your boy

Yesterday my 6'2" son painted the kitchen ceiling.
Then brought me a cup of tea without me asking.

That was pretty good.

I don't have any answers as my little boy is only 5 weeks old, but I just wanted to say I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling like this! He's grown out of a lot of his clothes and I'm so sad that he's growing so quickly! Silly I know, but I'm really interested in the responses to this post

My DS is 15mo and is such a funny, loving little boy. The big milestone for me was getting his first hair cut. It was a bitter sweet moment as it really felt like my baby had gone but we had so much to look forward to. When he runs up to me and gives me a kiss or cuddle, nothing beats it. Boys are the best! Enjoy your little boy

I have a daughter instead but if I can share mine, first giggle! It was the best sound and I never tire of hearing it!

Dancing. My 18mo loves to dance to anything. He's got pretty good rhythm too, no idea where he gets it from!

I loved watching him smile in his sleep too.

Open mouth kisses. My son is 7 months and has just started opening his mouth and face planting me. It's makes me want to squeeze him so hard. It's the best.

I have lovely boys. I agree with pp about their first proper smiles and belly laughs.

When they are big enough to sit on your lap and look at the pictures in books. Playing with toys such as cars, trains, shape sorters and play mobile. My two both loved pushing the toy push chairs around at play group. When they make marks on paper for the first time.

When they have their first reciprocal friendship.

This is probably evidence that I have spent far too long in a houseful of boys, but mine were so proud when they did their first wees in the toilet standing up.
