Is this normal? Hands in mouth

My baby is 12 weeks old, and this week he’s started putting his hands in his mouth and sucks on his fingers for a while at a time.. he doesn’t do it constant but afew times in the day hel be doing it for a while. I’m a first time mum so I’m not sure if I should let him be or shall I be taking his hands out his mouth and maybe give him a dummy or teething toy instead?

It's very normal and very healthy! That means your baby is learning how to self soothe. It also means he is now aware of his hands! Babies explore by mouth so he is feeling now the sensation of his own body, this is also great for his language, do not discourage, intact it's a great little milestone :) congrats
