Behaviour/development

1year old startling in her sleep

DD has just turned one and has started startling as she drops off to sleep (I know we as adults do it occasionally). I haven't noticed it until last night and today's lunchtime nap.

Last night she came into our bed at 4am (teething and sad) and she startled/spasmed several times before dropping off.

I'm just putting her down for a nap now, and she's largely asleep (eyes closed) but has startled/spasmed twice in the last five minutes.

She's teething, has a slight cold but otherwise appears healthy.

Is this anything to worry about?

I wouldn’t say so. I do it when I’m overtired. Has she had any pain relief?

Thanks popmusic I do it too (it's always in a half-dream and I'm always crossing the road in the dream and trip on the curb).

She's had a bit of Calpol (last night, not today as she doesn't seem to be in pain/is eating normally).

Glad she is eating normally today. I’d try her with some ibruprofen later and maybe an early night. Sounds like lots of cuddles are in order Smile
