Hi guys so his is my first thread but I'll get straight to the point. My 9 month old DD has been an absolute star since birth, she has been a happy, easy baby. But recently she has become a 'diva', throwing tantrums over absolutely nothing. Screaming if I even turn away for a second, refuses a nappy change unless I distract her in any wah possible. She refuses to sleep in her cot unless she falls asleep elsewhere and is placed in it later. Im just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how to over come it? I'm worried I'm going to lose my temper to quickly. Especially as a first time mum and a young mum. Thankyou! Smile

I noticed with my ds that when ever he wanted held and wouldn't go down it was teething. Babies all go through phases, it's not deliberate, it will pass, then you'll settle back into a routine, then they'll go through another phase leaving you feeling like the worst and most useless mother ever lol.
Take deep breathes, and stick in there your doing a great job xcx

Thankyou Laura, I'm really struggling and ad the days go by she I only getting worse. I feel like a terrible mother. And you are right with the teething, but she has been so good with it I don't understand why it would start all of this now...

Sounds like separation anxiety and the teething makes all babies grumpier. Google Baby centre separation anxiety.

I know what you mean about patience but take some big deep breath, plaster on a sarcastic smile as utter in your head “it’s just a phase” or the old favourite “this too shall pass “

The separation anxiety would have been caused by her so called Dad (if thats what it is). But thankyou, I never even thought of that! And yes, I do put on the lovely smile and pretend its all okay. My DD is a good little girl but she is gradually getting worse. Thankyou so much for the help!

I bet her behaviour is completely normal. We just get more tired as they get older, the energy reserves dip. My little one is 14 months now and honestly it’s exhausting, in a different way from a newborn but still very tiring. I have many “oh my gawd! ” “You’re making mummy sad” & “seriously” moments each day. Everyone does. That’s is why those Facebook posts & books like Hurrah for Gin are so popular

I bet you are doing a really good job. Don’t worry !
