Child struggling / unwilling to swallow

Just that! My 6 year old seems to have such difficulties swallowing; literally everything gets held in her mouth for what seems an age, before she finally swallows. She doesn't explain why she won't swallow, does anyone have any advice of strategies or what problem could be? (She even does this with stuff she loves like ice cream, sweets etc..all drinks, all soup or yoghurt...)

Take her to your GP and ask for a referral to a pead or speech and language therapist to get her whole mouth and throat processes looked at.

Dysphagia is the term you're looking at I think.

I am not a medical person just a parent.
