Retained Reflex therapy / integration + behavioural optometry

Does any one have experience/ success with retained reflex therapy and / or behavioural optometry for their children.

DS has ADHD/dyspraxia etc and have heard RRT can help, but the treatment can appear a little 'off-road'.

TIA for any comments / advice !

I did retained reflex therapy with my dyspraxic DS (5) and it has help him quite incredibly.
We went to Bob Allen in windsor (because the inpp people won't see anyone under 7 and the initial test seemed v expensive) he has been brilliant with ds and we saw amazing changes within a few days of starting. With us it seemed like ds regressed for a few days after each appt (babytalk/terrible twos/ tantrums) and then really changed for the better (anxiety gone/speech better/sensory issues better/more switched on/ riding a bike!!)
We didn't have any problems doing the brushing, it only takes a few minutes morning and night and ds seemed to like it.

When I went along I was a total sceptic but after seeing such dramatic improvements I would say it was worth every penny.

I would take your dc along just to see if he has any retained reflexes and if he hasn't then you won't need to do any therapy.

I am also thinking of going to the behavioural optometrist too, from what I've read it's much better to get rid of any RR first because there might be no eye issues once they are gone (if that makes sense)

I could go on about if all day so please ask away if you have any questions

Yes to both. We went to Hemispheres OT practise in Lightwater with DS2 who struggled with handwriting, bedwetting , upper body strength etc. Amazing progress over 7 months.

With DS1 we did Behavioural optometry for issues with binocular vision and hand eye coordination. We used Owen Leigh in Petersfield. Sophie Rose is also excellent - a few of my pupils have worked with her

Thank you Lara53.
We’re in a different part of the country. What did you search for when looking for someone to help? We’ve got a City not too far away so have tried to find something there but don’t think I’m looking for right thing.
