Advise about friendships in school aged kids

Hi all!
I am from NZ but just after some advice. My daughter (7) spoke to me a couple of nights ago about how she feels she doesn't have any friends at school. She is friendly with lots of kids in her class but she often finds that she has no one to play with at morning break and lunch time. She mentioned that she would play with other kids but when she went to go to the bathroom, they just ran away. My heart just broke for her!! She is a bubbly and confident little girl but this is really knocking her confidence. Does any one have any thing they can suggest for me to help her - I don't want to go and speak to her teacher (who is lovely) just yet. We have said to her that she can go up to people and ask them to play but I was just wondering if any of you lovely people had some advice?

Most school have friendship stops - or buddies to play games (usually year 6's)

Most 7 year olds have go to friends and may not realsie they are leaving her out

First arrange some one to one to one play dates

Make them for midweek

So Monday X will concentrate on DD as they are having tea on Thursday -

Then ask another friend another time

You can monitor the situation at home and she may get return invites

Awesome! Yes I will see if there is any she would like to come around to play after school. I know they have a 'buddy bench' where they can go if they have no one to play with. I agree that the other kids don't realise they are doing it as well but that's a hard concept isn't it?

Sorry new to this lol! Most kids seem to have 'buddied up' as it were and only want to play with their special friend. She had a special friend but then she was put into a different class, while her friend made another 'bestie' for want of a better term, my girl hasn't.
