Any help appreciated. My DD, after the initial colic / getting to know each other stage, was the sweetest natured little baby I've ever known (PFB yes! But family etc always commented on how lovely and easy she was).
In the last week she has completely changed and is now thoroughly miserable whenever she's awake, she doesn't enjoy cuddling, she doesn't want to be on the floor. She doesn't enjoy songs / stories / toys etc, she is a grotbags.
I initially put it down to her being so spoilt and stimulated more at the weekend, then stuck with me all week - is this even a thing?
She is showing some signs of teething so I'm giving her powders ocassionally.
Please share your wisdom Mumsnet, help me get my lovely girl back!

Could she be tired? This is around the time mine started refusing to sleep in the pram and got tired and grumpy easily x

She's in a leap maybe. Google developmental leaps in babies.

A 14 week old can not be spoilt or manipulate. She is clearly overtired. She should really be sleeping after 3/4 hours of being awake for a couple of hours. She is probably exhausted!

She will only nap for 10 min or so in cot / bouncing seat etc, she will sleep for longer in car seat (but of course evidence suggests that 30 minutes is max safe time in car seat), or in the pram. But it really isn't always practical to walk / drive arud for extended periods, I'm truly stuck as to how to get her to have good naps

If you have a pram where they can lie flat then they can sleep
In there for longer but you are right about car seat and any upright position. Sleep
Breeds sleep!

What Oram have you got? Does it go flat? Else it may be a matter of patience and patting and shushing her to sleep which could take up to half an hour. Is she breast or bottle fed? What are her exact sleeping times at the moment ?

Have you tried a sling? My little boy will go to sleep in the sling which means I can get him to sleep inside if I don't want to go out and get things done around the house (or sit on the sofa!) He also got quite grumpy around then too so could be a leap - have you got the wonder weeks app? Or it could be teething, there's so much going on for them right now but don't worry about spooling them at this age

Thanks for your advice. The trouble with the pram (it does lay flat) is that there are steps upto our house, so on returning home she wakes (looking to move to somewhere flat, this being one of the reasons), she hates the sling, she is quite a naturally warm baby and the extra heat from me is just too much for her.
I'm not being deliberately oppositional and I really do appreciate the advice.
It may well be teething and a leap week thrown into the mix as well. She is presently laying on her favourite baby cushion, struggling to keep her eyes open despite me shushing her and giving her a dummy, it's like she a fear of missing out on something by sleeping!

Anyname: dd1 was like that for naps. However at about 9 months she suddenly went into a routine of sleeping around 2-5pm as well as 8:30-8:30 at night.
I just continued trying to put her down during the day for the 10 minutes when she seemed tired.
She also did the sleep beautifully in the pram and wake as soon as the keys went into the door.

Yes the steps make it hard! Unless you go out for a walk/errands/coffee and get one nap done. Patting and shushing worked on my son, if you get the morning nap done in the pram out and about, you r are more likely to get the next nap down as she won't be overtired as it all ends up being a domino effect! It's quite early to teeth but very possible and it might help to get the wonder weeks app as that is brilliant explaining leaps. It might just be a phase or leap but at 14 weeks if you say it has been like this for say 4 weeks minimum it's likely to be a habit that has built. This can be undone but it is hard. Good Luck - these days are tricky but "this phase too shall end"!

Could be a bit of a growth spurt. This made my DD grumpy and sleepy for about a fortnight each time. She soon went back to being happy smiley baby.

She's now 16 months and still pretty happy and smiley, but sliiiiiightly more strongwilled and shouty and reluctant to sit still on me for cuddles. Blink and yours will be the same age, so try your best not to worry about it and enjoy as many cuddles as you can, when you can :)
