hi,my daughter whose now 14 months started walking at christmas,so thats 2 months ago but she is falling over constantly.im just getting a bit concerned as yes,youve guessed it shes my first .but surely by now her balence and co ordination should have kicked in,please help.

DS1 was walking early but was not walking 'outdoors' until he was a few months older. I would not worry about it - it takes time to learn to do anything new. Give her a little longer.

hi my dd started trying to walk at 18months, gave up then began again at about 20months!!

Dont worry, she will get there at her own pace so to speak.

DS walked at 17 months, he did not crawl until he was 11 months, nor did he roll or do anything in fact until he was 11 months,

DD walked at 16 months, 2 months after she tried walking, decided it was too much like hard work and carried on crawling..

as for falling over, tis what toddlers do...they have to fall over, bruise their heads and worry you constantly ! tis the toddler law !

My DS (my 2nd) walked at 10 mths. Loads of enthusiasm, no coordination. Just ricocheted around the house like a pinball machine and managed to chip one of his front teeth by using the bath as an emergency stop (he only had 5 at the time )

It did get a bit better but now, at 15 mths, he has discovered climbing. A whole new way of giving me heartfailure as yet again enthusiasm far outweighs ability

Not sure if that helps but your DD sounds fine to me, as Lulumama says, its their job to worry you.

thanks everyone,feel better now,its so hard knowing wots wot.you have to laugh when she walks her hands are up in the air,shes like superman.my hearts in my mouth constantly haha.thanks again

MummySue, my DS is 15 months and has also been walking since Christmas, and yes, he often falls over. However, I have found that giving him something (soft toy, fabric or paper, ie not a wooden toy!) to carry makes him concentrate on what he's carrying and so he walks better. Might just be my DS, but it might be worth a try!
