One year old making self sick

Hi everyone! My one year old has started to put his fingers back his throat over the last week to the point he gags and is sick. We tried ignoring it to begin with, we now tell him 'No' every time he does it and use distraction techniques too. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any advice would be gratefully accepted Smile

My DS did this for a couple of weeks around the time of his first birthday. He only did it at mealtimes. It was ghastly. But it was a phase, and passed. We ignored as far as possible, or calmly mopped up with absolute minimum fuss. Distraction kind of worked if we caught the thought before the action but otherwise just drew attention to it. He got bored after 3 weeks or so and hasn't looked back. Good luck, and sympathies.

That's reassuring we're not alone, it's so upsetting to watch. Thank you for your help ceara
