How tall is your 4 year old?

neversleepagain · 31/08/2016 22:34

My 3 year olds (4 at the end of September) are 109cm and 107cm and people are always commenting how tall they are.

Are the freakishly tall or taller than average?

My DD will be 4 at beginning of October and is about 100cm. People often comment that she is tall but she is on the 50th centile in the red book, so very average for her age! She still wears 3-4 clothes so definitely not tall!

I'm often told how tall my dds are which I find strange as the older one is somewhere between the 25th and 50th centile and the younger one hovers around the 50th. I think people think it is a compliment or something.

I once had someone say to me that I was quite tall. I'm 5'2 Shock

My DS was 110cm when he has his health check for turning 4 and was near the top of the chart. So yours are also pretty tall! He's five now and he's slowed down a bit now, there's a couple of taller kids in his class.

DS is 4.4 and 100cm. He is quite short but well within the charts.

My DGS will be 4 at the end of October and is currently ( as near as possible as it is hard to get him to stand still) 109cm and yes he is tall :)

My 4 yo will be turning 5 in October she is 114cm and was the tallest at her nursery but not by much. At this age the average growth is about 6cm a year which would put yours roughly the same at the same age. Not freakishly tall but very definitely taller than average

My twins are 4 at the start of October. Dtd is 100cm and dts is 110cm. He is definitely very tall amongst his friends of the same age and people often assume he's 5.

So they are tall then by some of these replies. They are skinny but in some 5-6 dresses. People just always seem surprised when I tell them they are 3.

My four year old is very baby faced still so people say he's tall as they think he's younger.

My dd is 109cm and she's four next week.
My son is 100cm and he was 2 last month
There's a pound between them in weight.

Dd is in 4-5 comfortably but can't wear jeans because she just doesn't fill them and leggings are baggy on her but she needs them for the height. Size 9.5 feet.

Son is in 2 -3 bottoms and 3-4 tips because otherwise his tummy sticks out the bottom. He isn't fat just wide and Square! Size 8 feet!

My dd was only 6 pounds born and I always see her as the small one because she's tiny next to her cousin if the same age who really is a giant but my son was over 9 pounds and needs to slow down or they will be sharing clothes soon!

DS is 4 at the end of January and when we went to the carnivals at the weekend he was 112cm when we stood him next to the board to see which rides he could go on. People always look at me like I'm mad when I say he's 3 and a half, he has size 11 feet Shock

They were dinky 5 pounders at birth and only 10lbs at 4 months so they have really shot up!

I know a ten year old who is 125cm tall. Off the bottom of the shady area on the charts according to his mum!
Tall young children are very confused by him and don't understand why he doesn't want to play with them.

DDs are 4 at the beginning of December. One has just suddenly grown to 102cm (which I think is huge) while the other is 97cm.

Dd1 is 4 at the end of October and is around 90cm tall, she's on the short side but then so are her father and I.

DD just turned 4 at the end of August and is 104cm. Not particularly tall I think. DS is 2 and is 99cm! He's about a kg heavier than DD as well. He will soon overtake her I think...

Dd is 3 and a half and 101cm tall. (Just measured her off this thread as I've never done it before!) I class her as quite tall, she's in 4-5 clothes mostly and size 10 feet but she shows as just over 50tg venture in the height chart which is surprising.

Ds is 4 1/2 and is 111cm tall and has size 12 feet. He has always followed his 91st centile line in the red book beautifully. Quite hard to get clothes to fit him though-I bought him age 5-6 trousers to start school with next week as they are for height 110-115cm, we tried them on and they are absolutely hanging off him even though they are the slim fit ones. They are 5cm too long!! So today's challenge is to find some more trousers!
