Has anyone's 3-year old seen the BFG movie? My son is 4 in November and I am wondering if he will be scared?

Dd is just 5 and absolutely loved it. It is a little scary in places, but it ends well. You know your ds best - is he fairly robust or would giants frantically searching for a human child and threatening to eat her give him nightmares? (They don't find her btw)

Whatever you do, don't take him to see Petes Dragon. Dd is still traumatised! Grin

LOL Cattheifkeith I actually thought Pete's Dragon would be better but it wasn't on. We watched the trailer and he seemed OK, but I'm not sure about big men taking kids from their bedrooms and all that!!Smile

I have a 5 year old, he would be terrified of the big still.

We are going to start reading the book though together.

Everyone's child is different. My 5 year old DS didn't bat an eye lid. I was quite disappointed actually.... Grin

Petes Dragon was really sad.

Have you read the story with him?
If he enjoys the book, then the film shouldn't be too scary. But if the book is a bit much then the film will definitely be too scary.

He's too young for the book still. Perhaps I'll leave him home and take DD8. X

My ds is generally terrified of the cinema but strangely loved the bfg, angry birds movie we had go go yo the toilet 5 times in an hour as he was nervous

I went to see it but I don't think I would take my 3 year old. The big hand coming in and taking the girl out of the bed would terrify him. Brilliant film though.

Not sure about the new film but my 3yo loves the old version with David Jason voicing the giant.

DD (5 in October) has seen both BFG and Pete's Dragon and was scared by both.

My 6 year old DS watched the trailer and decided he didn't want to come with me and DS 9. He did cry at the Postman Pat movie so he is not a hard core film watcher.

Me & DD8 watched it yesterday and loved it! Glad I didn't bring DS3. I think he would have been scared, and/or bored. X
