How to choose the keepsake items as your baby grows??

Hi!

Hoping to hear how OP have decided upon items to keep once LO grow out of them?

My DD is 5 months and I have two huge bags full of clothes, so many of them hold dear memories!! I have no idea if I'll have another child in the future - currently I think "NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL I GO THROIGH LABOUR!"

I have a women's refuge to donate the rest, just worried I'm being hasty letting it all go?

Not exactly short on storage I have a garage and a loft but I would need to protect the items I keep - any info on how OP do that would also help, I have those large stack boxes at the ready...

Hope this thread is in the right place too???

I kept only little cotton dresses with nice prints and I made them into a memory quilt. If you can't sew there are people on Facebook who make memory quilts and bears....with bears you can use baby gros and vests but quilts need pure cotton.

I have kept/plan to keep for all my children:

The first outfit they wore
The hospital name tags
A firsts book that details about pregnancy and also first tooth, steps, words with dates
First baby tooth that is lost
Photobooks of each year for the first few years
First dummy
Etc

Other significant clothes I am turning into bears and quilts as keepsakes but I have to wait until the clothes have finished being used as hand me downs first.

Look at www.babythreadskeepsakes.co.uk - I had a lion made out of my DS's first clothes and it's gorgeous. Plus she can weight them to the birth weight.

I kept and plan to keep, first hand and foot prints, baby record book with dates, pictures etc. When I learn to sew make a pillow for each of my girls from some pretty dresses they wear . Also first few drawing / paintings. And also a photo book of first years for each of them.
