DD almost 7yrs said she wanted to kill herself

She had a huge meltdown this afternoon because something we were trying to help her with wasn't to her liking. She's had two very late nights at sleepovers so I'm putting it down to that although we've had these episodes before.. I tried to calm her down. She started throwing and scratching things, then she took her shoes from her show box and started hitting her forehead with them. She then told me she wanted to kill herself because she'd been naughty. I'm worried. This isn't normal right? Any advice appreciated. TIA.
