Hi everyone, I need some advice. My DD is nearly 8 since she was 3 we have struggled with her behaviour, firstly at nursery then later at school. Usually at the start of each half term her behaviour is awful, disruptive, chatting, not being able to sit still. this year by day two she had her pencil case taken off her and had a play time detention. The teacher was optimistic it was just the new year and to bear with.
6 weeks on we have been called in most days, she misses massive amounts of school teaching because she is stood out the class room, she says she hate school and wants to know why she is different to everyone else. This is the same pattern as every other year.
They are talking about putting her on a formal report now, I am thinking there is something more going on and have made an appointment at he gp.
In year one school put me on a positive parenting course which was good- but made no difference to her behaviour, she also had grommets in and tonsils out because he go thought that this was the cause.
At home she is fab, she is loud and talkative she sings all the time and usually does as she is asked, however every once in a while she has these massive tantrums which end up with me sitting on the floor restraining her in a bear hug manner until she calms down.
I don't really no what to say at the doctors on Thursday, I contacted the school nurse. But she said the service is currently being privatised and they can't help until mid November
Any idea on what we do now?
