Copying what I say when reading stories

DD is 1 year 9 months old. She absolutely loves stories. However, she's started copying whatever I read. She's not really interrupting, I can carry on and read the whole story normally (in fact that's what she wants me to do), but she'll say every single word about a half a second after I do. If I stop then she stops, if I start again then she starts again.

Is this, for want of a better word, "usual"? I never had this with 4 year old DS, and in fact I've never come across this at all before. Should I be concerned?

My 2.5 year old does this. He likes to 'read' the story to me.

My dd started doing something like this when she was older than your dd (maybe 2), and it turned out she was trying to learn the stories! There are now a few books she can recite big chunks of, and this is how she learned them. Nothing to worry about, I would think. Just a way of trying out speech and learning new words, I assume,

Just her way of participating? Your DS may have preferred simply listening.
