Behaviour/development

for the love of pete, I'd forgotten how challenging little ones are.

Today has been a merry go round of putting washing back into the machine as ds whips it out, putting drying washing back on radiators as he follows me round removing it all.
He is just into EVERYTHING, & child door locks are no match for him. He can undo them in seconds.

The word "no" means absolutely nothing to him!

Added to the fact that he doesn't sleep & is full of a cough & cold, I'm shattered & tetherless.

I had forgotten about all this between my kids as the age gap is 10 years.

Sigh....and this too shall pass.......

Try moving house, thought you'd packed that box, well not anymore! Moved in to the new house, unpacked a box, it's now full of other stuff and a small child. I have a 2 and a 4 yr old.

Aha, I feel your pain! I could have written that post myself. Dd2 is 16mo and so far this morning has smashed a plate while trying to 'help' me unload the dishwasher, has distributed the clean laundry basket across the dining room, and the living room floor looks like Santa's sack has exploded in the centre of it and blanketed the floor in toys. Very cute and utterly impossible age! I cannot wait until I am able to actually get housework done and not have the place destroyed again within 2 minutes. It will pass... it will pass...! In the meantime, there is coffee and chocolate.

I am so happy to hear this is a phase and there will be an end to it!! My DS (15mo and only child) is like a tornado of destruction in our flat at the moment.

He doesn't so much play with toys as just distribute them around the house! He is also a big fan of opening cupboard and getting everything out - hall cupboards, kitchen cupboards, bedroom cupboard, bathroom cupboards. I am forever finding tampax on the kitchen floor, Tupperware in the bathroom and underwear in the middle of the living room floor Hmm

So when exactly will this phase end???

I remember when dd1 was this age she used to regularly empty my friend's DVD cabinet every time we went round.

Sorry, I mean her alphabetised DVD cabinet. Obviously :)

My 2 year old is STILL like this! Drives me mad some days. He does listen when I tell him no now but he has an enormous sulk and walks off and finds yet more mischief to get in to! :)
