DD disorganised

DD 11 is constantly in trouble at school for not bringing home letters and returning reply slips, leaving papers lying around, not having the right stationery, not focusing when the teacher is busy teaching etc. What can we do at home to help her cope better at school? The teacher asked me to speak to her but that achieves nothing. We're not super organised at home either but we do try. She is just incredibly scatterbrained, and as a result is not performing according to her intellectual potential.

Ask her every day if there's a letter from school. Every evening ask her if she has what she needs for the next day.

DS1 was like this but had a friend who used to organise him and tell me when he needed anything.

Morgause I do ask. The teacher says check in her letters folder - hard to do if she leaves the folder at school!
