Newborn staring

I gave birth on Sunday to a perfect baby boy. I was kept in for 3 days as he had a cardiac arrest on delivery and the cord was wrapped round his neck twice!! Hmm
Now where at home and they said he has a little jaundice but I'm so worried.
He keeps staring into space as if he's dead. I'm sure he stops breathing to! Is this normal?

Congrats on the birth of your LO and hope you're doing okay after what sounds like a very scary entry to the world. They can see such short distances when they're first born, it always looks like they're staring into nothingness. We used to joke that DS was like the kid from the sixth sense with his 1000 yard stares! Grin DS is now nearly 8 months and I still check to make sure he's still breathing when he's too quiet/been sleeping for ages. Welcome to motherhood Wink

And early days jaundice is very, very normal but you midwives will keep an eye on it.

Film him, then talk to your mid wife.I'm sure he's fine, paranoia is a sod for all of us, but you've had a rocky start

Do you have him in your room at night?
