Colief for Wind at 4 months

Hi - I wondered if I could tap into any mum's experience of using Colief when your baby is 4 months old. My son is 15 weeks and has always suffered from wind and Infacol seemed to help especially as he has gotten older the wind hasnt seemed to be such an issue like the first couple of months. However the past 9 nights he is waking every hour from about 2.15am to 6am and is kicking frantically, if I push his knees to his belly sometimes wind is released. I struggle to get a burp out of him after feeding so I think Infacol is no longer working.

Has anyone tried Colief at 4 months? I hear it is good for wind but reading the website it mentions baby's system is more mature so symptoms should cease.

Thank you in advance.
Jane

If he's having problems, give it a try for a few days.

I gave it to DFD at about 8-11 weeks and she got a bit better by herself after that. I think it helps them break down the lactose in milk (breast/formula) and makes it easier to digest hence les wind, whereas I think Infacol doesn't work in quite the same way.

I'm no expert, but if he's still struggling, give him a bit, even if he is a bit older.

(Also, see if you can get it on prescription, it's £12!)

DD is 5 months and we have used colief since she was about 5 weeks old... I also heard that after 4 months wind should ease so last week when we ran out of colief I made bottles with none in it.. DD had a horrific 24 hours, she hardly slept (usually sleeps 10 hours at night) and did a lot of crying!!! I don't know if it was the no colief or coincidence but we have gone back to using colief and I will probably continue until DD is eating 3 meals a day and less bottles.... So I would say to give it a go... It is expensive though for a tiny bottle but you only use 1-2 drops per bottle so it lasts about 7-10 days Smile

My baby is 5 months and I just got prescribed colief last week, he was pulling his legs up to his chest all the time, only pooping every 2/3 days and seemed really uncomfortable. I can't rate it highly enough! He seems so much happier, now pooping twice a day and now when he lifts his legs to his chest he actually farts! :)

Do you think it could just be the 4 month sleep regression?

We used colief until dd was 7 months old. However, her colic was due to having a lactose sensivity. Colief breaks down the lactose and makes the milk gentler on the babies tummy. Because it was lactose causing her wind issues the infacol didnt work. Colief was a godsend.
