3.5 yr old dd 'bf' on my arm whilst I fed new ds...

So dd seemed to handling her new brother very well. There have been some difficult drop offs at nursery but that had started before ds. Think it's due to the new term, changes to class etc.

She has also started sitting on the potty that's in the bathroom still rather than the toilet.

There has also been some difficulty when my mum leaves the house.

What can I do to help her? I expected some acting up but have to say trying to bf from my arm has caught me off guard.

I think the Bf thing is just mimicking and an attempt to be involved. My dd did this to me when she witnessed her new cousin bfing. she must have been 3ish also.

must be difficult for her at the moment, can you involve her in helping and doing or getting her to sit with you whilst bf and read new baby a story together or something.

Oh tricky. I am going to watch this one. Expecting DC2 any day now, & DD age 3.3 has already expressed an interest in breastfeeding (she knows that the baby will have mummy milk etc). Not sure how to handle it if she wants to actually latch on! Not interested in un-weaning her - she weaned about 10 months ago.

Ha ha mine did that as well, quite a few times! And she only bf for a week as a baby and was ff after that so has no memory of bf. It's as festi says, just an attempt to be involved. She also asked to "feed" from my other boob as well and I let her - she just pretended for a minute and was happy with that. She then went on to bf upsy daisy and her teddy etc Grin It's normal, don't worry, and just do what you can to help her feel included.

Thanks guys. Today she helpfully started to pull my top down when we had a visitor, this is going to be fun isn't it?!?
