2.4yo still throwing every meal on the floor

DS2 (2.4) is a great eater BUT at the end of EVERY meal, still throws the remainder of his food on the floor, unless I get there literally the very second he finishes. I have tried ignoring, making him pick the food up and put it in the bin, giving lots of praise on the (very) rare occasion he hasn't done it. But still it continues, and after nearly two years it's driving me a bit nuts. Can somebody give me ideas to stop it, or at least tell me he'll grow out of it soon?!
