How long until DD crawls forward?

My DD is 24 weeks old and has been moving backwards (by lifting her tummy off the floor and shunting back) for about a week now. If your baby did this, how long before they moved forwards?

The reason I'm asking is that I'm recovering from back problems and have sciatica at the moment so I find getting down onto the floor quite hard work and just wonder how long I've got to completely recover before DD is on the move.

Thanks

DS is nine months and has just started crawling forward, but can easily pull himself up to sitting and play on his own. Pushed himself backwards, like your DD, for about six weeks before he went forward.

DD did this for about a month before being able to go forwards, she wasn't able to co-ordinate her arms and legs properly and kept shunting backwards. She kept getting stuck under the sofa!

DD took quit some time to do this don't remeber exactly how long but it was at lest a month.

DS took less then two week's, was sitting up at 6months and full on forward crawling by 7months.

So your guess is as good as anyones.

No hard and fast rule then. Hopefully it will be at least another month. Thanks

4-6 weeks, if I remember correctly.

Yes at least 4 weeks more like 6-8. But mine was cruising as soon as crawling so you wouldn't have to bend down so far.
