Spitting out food

DD is 14mo. She's got an ok appetite but can be a bit picky with certain foods.

Recently she's been putting food into her mouth perfectly happily, chewing and then spitting it out. Even with food she really likes.

Part of me wonders if it's because she's full, but then she does it repeatedly. Normally her sign that she's full is throwing food on the floor.

She's just been doing it with her supper and her bib was full. I'd given her fruit and yoghurt and then when I went to take her bib off she started scooping out the food in there and ate it all Confused

Do other children do this?

Mine does this too. His favourite trick is to spit everything out then wait until I've emptied his plate into the dog's bowl and chuck an enormous strop because I won't let him eat it out of there. Am thinking of cutting out the middle man and just feeding him from a stainless steel bowl on the floor Grin

DD would definitely go for that too! It's all I can do to stop her helping the dog out with his own food Grin

Glad it's not just her with the spitting out thing Grin

Yes, DS gave the Bakers Complete a go too. Unfortunately, it was as I was distracted by a phone call from the health visitor who heard me shouting "for Christ's sake, don't eat the dog's food."
He has also eaten teabags, Oxo cubes and potato peelings while turning his nose up at normal food Grin
