almost 7 months and showing no signs of rolling over

My DD is almost 7 months old and is showing no signs of attempting to roll over. She is active in all other ways, can sit un aided for ages but hates tummy time. She will lie on front for a few minutes then gets agitated and upset. Should she be rolling by now?

Don't worry!

My DS (now 11 months) never rolled, and is now crawling like a maniac.

He would occasionally roll on to his side, and once I caught him sleeping on his front in bed, but I can count the time he did a roll on one hand!

The one to be aware of is them being able to hold up their head and sit up ok - so sounds like you are doing just great!

DS first rolled from back to front. We had him on a play mat with toys which encouraged him to roll randomly one day.

What happens during tummy time? I used to do tummy time with me lying on my back and put DS in my chest on his tummy so he could look up at me. Or put him on his tummy on the bed as kneel so I wa at eye level. It's worth encouraging tummy time to build up core muscle strength.

Don't worry about it, all babies do different things at differnet times.

My DD still wasn't sitting unaided at a year. She is now 9 yo and incredibly sporty and fit.

Dd1 didn't roll till about 9 months. Dd2 on the other hand has been doing since 6 months and is a complete bugger with it. I have to pin her down to change her and get her in a head lock to feed her! Don't worry, when he's on the go you will be looking back fondly at these days Grin

They are all different, my dd (dc3) can roll and crawl at 6 months (although she rolls from back to tummy and can only really manage tummy to back by accident really), but is nowhere near being able to sit up! They do what they want to do and what interests them, persevere with tummy time but don't stress.

My DD is 13 months and just learnt to crawl. She rolled once in her cot at 7 months and never again until 12 months. Now she can't stop doing it and changing nappys and drying after a bath is more interesting!
